Stephen Curry Responds to Fan's Criticism for Pass off of David Nwaba's Back
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry responded to a fan's criticism on social media about throwing the ball off the back of Chicago Bulls shooting guard David Nwaba late in the first quarter of Wednesday night's game at the United Center.
Curry called his decision "pretty smart" in a Twitter reply late Wednesday:
Here's a look at the moment in question:
Curry finished the Dubs' 119-112 road victory with 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists while making six of his 11 attempts from beyond the arc.
Afterward, the only comments from Nwaba focused on the difficulty of defending the Splash Brothers, not the play at the end of the first period.
"A guy like Curry and [Klay] Thompson, any space you're giving them, they're shooting it," Nwaba told reporters. "They're constantly on the move and I have to stay with them the best I can."
Curry was not called for a technical foul on the play.
The 29-year-old two-time NBA MVP was previously ejected from an October game against the Memphis Grizzlies for throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of a referee.
