Ted Valentine missed a foul on Joel Berry II. When the North Carolina senior attempted to make his case, the referee turned his back and folded his arms.

As Berry ran the court on a fast break, Florida State's Terance Mann yanked his arm. A pass then sailed beyond his reach for a pivotal turnover in a three-point game. Although understandable to not catch during live action, replay shows that the Tar Heels point guard clearly had a reason to vent.

Instead of engaging in discourse and accepting accountability like a professional, Valentine—known as "TV Teddy" for his frequent histrionics—made himself the story.

The non-call proved costly, as No. 12 North Carolina suffered an 81-80 loss to No. 24 Florida State on Wednesday night. Berry scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half.
