Google mistakenly listed Lonzo Ball's father as the NBA's founder recently.
James Naismith invented basketball in 1891 so his YMCA students could play an indoor game during the winter. On Aug. 3, 1949, the Basketball Association of America (BAA) and National Basketball League (NBL) merged to form the NBA, headed by elected president Maurice Podoloff.
LaVar Ball is a man who sells shoes and other merchandise. While his ego may be large enough to believe he started the NBA after seeing Google's error, he most certainly did not.
