76ers' G League Affiliate Will Wear SpongeBob SquarePants Uniforms

The Delaware 87ers will celebrate Nickelodeon Night by dressing as Bikini Bottom's own SpongeBob SquarePants.

On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers' G League squad will don uniforms resembling the absorbent, yellow and porous star who lives under the sea. Per the team's Twitter page, proceeds from ticket sales and a jersey auction will go to CHILD, Inc., a local organization providing care for abused and neglected children.

They're not the first sports team inspired by the Krusty Krab's most dedicated employee. The Norfolk Tides, a Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, also modeled SpongeBob uniforms in 2015. 

Unlike Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen, the 6-14 87ers have a ways to go before being No. 1.
