P.J. Tucker's Basket Propels Rockets to Double-Overtime Win over Lakers
Steve SilvermanDec 31, 2017
The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers met on New Year's Eve at Staples Center in an epic game that went to double overtime before P.J. Tucker helped the Rockets pull out a 148-142 victory.
Tucker scored his only two points of the game with a layup after grabbing an offensive rebound to break a tie at 142 with just five seconds remaining.
Tucker followed up those winning points by coming up with the steal on the ensuing Lakers inbounds.
The Rockets added four free throws in the final seconds. Tucker may not have had a big offensive night, but his only two points were quite meaningful, and so was his key defensive play.
