DeMarcus Cousins, Carmelo Anthony: Floor Defenders with Crafty Crossovers
Moe MotonDec 22, 2017
New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony broke ankles Friday night.
Cousins isn't known for his fancy handles, but his quickstep put Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic on the floor. He kicked out to guard Jrue Holiday, who drained the three-pointer. The Pelicans went on to win 111-97 at the Amway Center.
At Chesapeake Arena, Atlanta Hawks forward Ersan Ilyasova fought around Stevan Adams' screen to chase Anthony off the dribble but lost his balance when biting on the step-back. Melo would hit the shot beyond the arc in guard Isaiah Taylor's face.
Russell Westbrook iced the game when he hit a three-pointer to close the fourth quarter 120-117 for the Thunder's third consecutive victory.
