LeBron James and Other NBA Stars Illustrated on Nike 'Hyper Courts' in Manila
Nike has designed five "Hyper Courts" in Manila featuring the likenesses of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving.
Per Nike's release, Arturo Torres—the illustrator of Shea Serrano's Basketball (and Other Things) book—provided the artwork for the Philippines courts.
Beyond the intricate designs, the courts provide access to data-free training drills and other informative mobile basketball content through Google.
"For example, videos from experienced coaches relay drills that address power, quickness and versatility tailored to different types of players," the release states. "The program also learns and makes recommendations from continuous user interaction, which helps promote ongoing progress."
The aesthetics and interactive experience go way beyond a typical park's basketball court. Plus, players of all skill levels can say they scored on an NBA star.
