Paul George Among Players Scammed Out of Sneakers by Man Posing as Adele Manager
Prosecutors in Miami-Dade County, Florida, allege a man posed as Adele's manager in order to receive sneakers from various athletes, including Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George.
According to the Miami Herald's David Ovalle, an arrest warrant was filed Tuesday for Justin Jackson and his wife, Angel Lii. The pair also received shoes from Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo and retired NBA star Richard Hamilton.
Ovalle reported that Jackson offered tickets to Adele concerts in exchange for the shoes, which he said would be auctioned to raise money for charities. Prosecutors charged Jackson and Lii with more than a dozen felonies, including identity theft and organized scheme to defraud.

In 2015, the New York Daily News' Nicole Hensley reported Jackson allegedly posed as Oprah Winfrey's nephew in order to receive various perks, including a job with the hotel chain Extended Stay America, and impersonated an aide of President Barack Obama to get gift cards from companies such as Cheesecake Factory and Juicy Couture.
Jackson also was convicted with first-degree grand theft in 2007 when he sold $2.4 million worth of jewelry he acquired while claiming to be Madonna's manager.
