Reggie Jackson Trade for E'Twaun Moore, Alexis Ajinca Reportedly Discussed

The Detroit Pistons may not be finished shaking up their starting lineup. 

According to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the team has discussed sending Reggie Jackson to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for E'Twaun Moore and Alexis Ajinca.

Jackson has started 156 of the 158 games he has played since joining the Pistons during the 2014-15 season. In that time, he has averaged 17.2 points and 6.4 assists per game.

However, the point guard is coming off a disappointing season where he averaged just 14.5 points per game with a 41.9 field-goal percentage that was his lowest since his rookie year. He also missed 30 games with knee and neck injuries.

With the Pistons already changing up their backcourt by acquiring Avery Bradley and renouncing their rights to would-be restricted free agent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jackson could be the next domino to fall.

The guard is also owed more than $16 million for each of the next three seasons.

Moore, meanwhile, is coming off the best year of his career, as he averaged 9.6 points per game in his first season with the Pelicans. The 27-year-old is a quality shooter with a 36.9 career three-point percentage, which could make him a solid addition to Detroit's backcourt rotation. Ajinca would also add depth in the Pistons frontcourt, something which isn't as imperative in New Orleans with Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins in tow.

Giving all three veterans the chance for a fresh start could be a positive for everyone involved.
