Houston Rockets head coach and 2017 NBA Coach of the Year Mike D'Antoni joins Bleacher Report's Howard Beck and Jordan Brenner to discuss Clutch City's remaining moves in free agency, losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs and what it will be like having two Hall of Fame point guards in the same starting lineup next season.

He also shares who he believes is the funniest player he's ever coached, and he plays a game of "Seven Seconds of Less" with the guys.

Afterward, Beck and Brenner discuss a potential D'Antoni-Carmelo Anthony reunion, OKC's trade for Paul George, the Boston Celtics' acquisition of Gordon Hayward and other offseason happenings.

On first learning that Chris Paul was an option for the Rockets

Well, excitement knowing that you had one of the best players in the last 10 years of the game and a sure Hall of Famer—realizing too at the same time he's the same position that James is playing. So you know there's a little trepidation about figuring out a way that they maximize everything that they do when they're on the court together. But knowing that ... you gotta have more talent. ... I'm looking forward to working with the guys that we got, and excited about having Chris ... knowing how good he is, it gets a coach excited, for sure.

On the Chris Paul-James Harden Fit

There'll be a Hall of Fame point guard on the floor at all times for 48 minutes—that's good. And then they're really good off the ball also. Chris Paul is one of the better shooters in the league; James has played off the ball his whole career and was runner-up for MVP off the ball ... I don't see that much of a problem.

... I'm looking at Clint Capela like he'll be our leading scorer because of all the lobs he's gonna get.

On a potential learning curve

I think it will be an adjustment period. Like LeBron [James] and Dwyane Wade, they wanted to get it done and they got it done. So whatever the adjustment is, we'll make—they'll make. When you run into problems is when somebody doesn't want to adjust and somebody just doesn't want to play a position you want them to, or they want to have the ball more and all that stuff. So if you don't have that, and we sit down and say 'okay, guys. How are we gonna figure this out?' Then you figure it out.

Whether it'll take a little while or immediately, we'll see.

On Chris Paul, a great mid-range shooter, joining a team that avoids the mid-range shot

He's only allowed if he makes them. (laughs)

Hey, everything is kind of up in the air, and all we're trying to do is get the most efficiency out of the team that you can get. And he's one of the most efficient, if not the most efficiency guy from two. So yeah, I'd be stupid to say 'you can't do it too.'

On generally overcoming difficult basketball relationships

Let me tell you what: You make things work because, basically, off the court you're good guys. ... Hopefully I've gotten a little bit more mellow, a little bit smarter in my last years, and you make things work.
