Chauncey Billups Playing in Big3 After Leaving League to Pursue Cavaliers GM Job
Chauncey Billups will make his BIG3 debut Sunday at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, after he stepped away from the league to interview for the Cleveland Cavaliers' vacant general manager position, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
Jim Jackson, who serves as an analyst for the BIG3 on FS1, posted a video on Instagram that showed Billups shooting with his Killer 3s teammates on Saturday:
BIG3 founder Ice Cube previously told TMZ on June 21 that Billups was leaving to take over for David Griffin in the Cavs' front office, but the two sides have been in a holding pattern over the past couple of weeks.
On June 26, the Associated Press' Tom Withers reported Billups was undecided about joining the defending Eastern Conference champions after two meetings with owner Dan Gilbert.
With his executive future still up in the air, Billups will return to the BIG3 and reunite with Stephen Jackson, Reggie Evans and Larry Hughes when the Killer 3s take on Corey Maggette's Power on Sunday.
