Gareon Conley, Raiders Reportedly Agree to Rookie Contract
First-round draft pick Gareon Conley reportedly has signed his contract with the Oakland Raiders, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.
Per Spotrac, under terms of the NFL rookie wage scale, Conley's deal will be worth a total of $10.467 million with a $5.75 million signing bonus.
The cornerback was taken with the No. 24 pick of the draft with the upside to be the top player in the class at his position. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller listed him as the No. 11 overall prospect prior to the draft.

With good size and length at 6'0", Conley can match up against bigger receivers while also possessing the speed to handle the faster players on offense.
While his talent alone could have made him a top-15 pick, concerns arose when a rape allegation surfaced just days before the draft. Despite the question marks, the Raiders were comfortable with the person they selected.
"I understand the issues involved," general manager Reggie McKenzie said, per Peter King of The MMQB. "But we did our research, and we read all the reports, and we did more than our due diligence. After all the information we got, we were comfortable with making this choice and confident in who this player is."
Conley called the accusation "completely false" and met with Cleveland police to discuss the situation.
Sergeant Jennifer Ciaccia, a public information officer for the Cleveland Division of Police, told Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on July 24 the case "still remains under investigation.”
The Raiders felt confident with their own investigation to select Conley in the first round.
If he can help improve a pass defense that ranked 24th in the NFL, Oakland has enough offense to become a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2017.
