OKC Coach Billy Donovan Appears to Say 'Can't Play Kanter' on Bench vs. Rockets

Thomas DuffyJun 23, 2018

During the fourth quarter of Sunday's Game 1 beatdown at the hands of the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Billy Donovan seemed frustrated with big man Enes Kanter.

After the 6’11” big man got beat for a Clint Capella alley-oop, Donovan appeared to tell assistant Mo Cheeks that he "can't play Kanter," as NBA writer Jared Dubin noted on Twitter.

Kanter, a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, excels in rebounding and scoring around the rim. His defense, however, is questionable at best.

Kanter finished with eight points and three boards in 16 minutes. He was a minus-10 in the 118-87 defeat.
