Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs Odds, Analysis, NBA Betting Pick

OddsShark.comMar 29, 2017

The San Antonio Spurs (57-16) will go for a regular-season sweep of the Golden State Warriors (60-14) as solid home favorites for the final meeting between the teams Wednesday before the playoffs get underway next month.

The Spurs cannot afford to lose again if they are going to catch the Warriors for the NBA's best record and earn home-court advantage throughout the postseason.

Point spread: The Spurs opened as 4.5-point favorites; the total is at 210, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. (Line updates and matchup report)

NBA betting pick, via OddsShark computer: 103.0-101.6 Warriors (NBA picks on every game)

Why the Warriors can cover the spread

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr has already stated he does not plan to rest any of his players Wednesday, according to Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News. This despite the fact that his team will be playing on back-to-back nights following a 113-106 win over the Houston Rockets as a 1.5-point road underdog on Tuesday.

The Warriors were underdogs for just the second time this season, with the previous time coming in their last visit to San Antonio on March 11, which was a 107-85 loss as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala rested under a back-to-back scenario. For the record, they are 7-4 straight up and against the spread in their last 11 games as underdogs.

Why the Spurs can cover the spread

The Spurs are coming off a 103-74 rout of the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers as five-point home favorites on Monday, and they beat Golden State badly the last time without Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker.

Leonard and Aldridge combined for 39 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and four steals against the Cavaliers, who fell out of first place in the East with the loss. Mentally, a sweep would mean a lot to San Antonio regardless of whether or not the team ultimately catches the Warriors. Especially considering the first two were decided by a combined 51 points.

Smart betting pick

Golden State is riding an eight-game winning streak (6-2 against the spread) without Kevin Durant after a brutal 2-5 stretch and hopes to get a status update on him soon. The Warriors failed to cover the spread 10 times in 11 games at one point and know they need to finish strong or risk losing the top seed in the Western Conference.

But this game means more to the Spurs, so bet them to win and cover again at sports betting sites, completing the sweep.

NBA betting trends

Golden State is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games.

Golden State is 4-2 ATS in its last six games on the road.

The total has gone under in six of San Antonio's last eight games against Golden State.
