WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for March 27

Ryan DilbertMar 27, 2017

The WrestleMania 33 hype train has one last stop for the WWE Raw brand.

On Monday night, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will cross paths ahead of their battle at Sunday's pay-per-view. The two seething beasts will stand in the spotlight looking to build anticipation for their Universal Championship match.

Elsewhere on the show, Bayley will look to get up off the canvas after suffering a beatdown last time out. Seth Rollins will formally accept the invitation to his WrestleMania clash with his blood rival. And Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens will tear at each other's throats once more before The Show of Shows.

Raw will have to handle all these feuds without its general manager.

Commissioner Stephanie McMahon fired Mick Foley on the most recent episode. The red brand now will now head into Philadelphia in the heart of WrestleMania season with one less authority figure at the helm.

Will any surprise faces pop up in the chaos sure to come?

Backstage news, the Raw preview on WWE.com and storyline projections help foresee what's in store for Philly fans Monday night. The WrestleMania go-home show will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

News, Potential Spoilers

Finn Balor is back in action but hasn't yet returned to Raw.

After suffering a shoulder injury last summer, the inaugural universal champion spent several months on the shelf. He has since been cleared and has been wrestling at live events.

As noted on PWInsider.com, Balor most recently worked the Raw house show on Sunday in White Plains, New York.

It's unclear, though, whether The Demon King will make his way back to TV before WrestleMania. There's no time to add his own story at this point, so WWE may look to delay his arrival until after The Show of Shows. Even so, the fans in Philly will no doubt be on the lookout for Balor Monday night.

The same goes for the Hardy brothers.

After failing to come to terms with Impact Wrestling on a new deal, Matt and Jeff Hardy could be on their way to Raw or SmackDown. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported, "New contract offers have officially been extended to Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy by WWE—and all signs point to an inevitable return."

Whether that leads to an agreement between the two sides isn't certain. And WWE may save the former tag team champs' arrival for WrestleMania, but there could at least be hints of their return Monday night.

Raw Streaks

As Austin Aries prepares to challenge Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania, he will do so armed with momentum aplenty.

A Double has tasted victory a number of times of late.

On the most recent edition of Raw, Aries took down Tony Nese to notch his latest win. Per CageMatch.net, Aries is undefeated since returning from injury and joining the cruiserweight division: 2-0 on 205 Live and 2-0 on Raw. Expect that roll to continue Monday to help hype his bout with Neville.

Sami Zayn isn't getting nearly the same treatment. As seen on CageMatch.net, The Underdog from the Underground has lost his three singles matches on Raw and is 0-4 in one-on-one action overall.

He has no match set for WrestleMania and is clearly not a priority for WWE at the moment.

That's not likely to change ahead of The Showcase of the Immortals. Zayn fans are better off hoping for an ascension to begin once that PPV is over.

Last Leg of WrestleMania Build

Rollins and Triple H are poised to make their WrestleMania clash official.

Last Monday, The Game issued a challenge to his hobbled rival. To skirt around the fact that Rollins may not be medically cleared (in storyline) before the big event, Triple H offered to fight him in an unsanctioned match.

Rollins is now scheduled to sign a hold harmless agreement to set up that bout.

This will be WWE's last chance to clue fans in on whether Triple H's muscle, Samoa Joe, will be a part of this in some fashion.

Ahead of her title defense, Bayley will have payback on her mind.

Nia Jax earned her way into the WrestleMania Raw Women's Championship match by defeating Bayley last week. She beat up and bowled over the champ in the process. Should Bayley fail to strike back in Philly, she will enter the big bout looking even more like the underdog than usual, which could help up the drama.

That element won't be in short supply when Jericho and Owens cross paths.

The feud between the former best friends has grown increasingly personal in recent weeks. Jericho mocked his opponent by showing clips of him as a young man in a Y2J T-shirt. KO retaliated with violence, smashing Jericho into the canvas.

The Raw preview on WWE.com hinted at the cycle of animosity continuing: "Given Owens' actions and harsh words this past Monday night, how will the U.S. Champion respond in Philadelphia?"

Bad blood will also be abundant in the feud over the Universal Championship.

To this point, physicality has been limited between Lesnar and Goldberg after their collision at Royal Rumble. Both men have promised to take down the other at WrestleMania. It's time now for words to cease and brutality to begin.

The Beast Incarnate and Goldberg will be in the same building Monday night. The Raw preview asked, "Will these raging bulls lock horns on the final Raw before their battle on The Grandest Stage of Them All?"

You can bet on that.

Monday marks the final chance for Raw to sell its audience on the WrestleMania lineup. This is the home stretch to the year's biggest event. Expect WWE to put its foot on the gas and deliver a number of memorable moments.
