Brook Lopez Says He's Pulling for Serge Ibaka If He Fights Robin Lopez Again
People are expected to support family members through thick and thin. Brook Lopez, however, playfully refused to extend such loyalty to his brother Robin Lopez.
The Chicago Bulls center and Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka were both ejected from Tuesday night's game between their teams for throwing punches at each other. Speaking on the "old-school NBA" tussle, Brook joked about not taking his sibling's side.
"Maybe we'll get a grudge match," Brook said. "I'm pulling for Ibaka."
When told that Robin threw the first blow, the Brooklyn Nets center was not surprised: "He always does, though. He's messed up like that, man."
Barring an unlikely playoff meeting between the Bulls and Raptors, Brook will not get a chance to cheer on Ibaka anytime soon. He could, however, stand up to his twin when the Nets and Bulls meet twice to close out the regular season.
