Arizona State 98, Stanford 88 (OT)
A matchup between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds lived up to its name as 40 minutes wasn't enough to settle the battle.
Arizona State controlled much of the second half and was up as many as 12 points late, but the squad failed to score in the last three minutes and 47 seconds of regulation. Stanford stormed back and tied the game with a Michael Humphrey jumper in the final seconds.
The Sun Devils got back on track in overtime, however, scoring with ease to outscore the Cardinal 17-7 in the extra session.
Obinna Oleka led the way with 27 points and 13 rebounds. The team only got two bench points but saw all five starters reach double figures, shooting 55.9 percent from the field. Reid Travis scored 23 points to lead Stanford in the loss.
California 67, Oregon State 62
Oregon State won just five games all season and went 1-17 in the conference, but the squad gave Cal everything it had in the first round of the Pac-12 tournament.
Stephen Thompson Jr. scored 25 points thanks to his 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range, and the Beavers shot 10-of-17 from beyond the arc as a team. When Kendal Manuel had a chance to take the lead with under a minute remaining, however, his deep look fell short.
A long outlet to Jabari Bird turned into a three-point play, giving Cal a 62-57 lead. The Bears shot well enough from the free-throw line from there to escape with a five-point win over the worst team in the conference. Bird led the way with 20 points in the victory.
While California still believes it deserves a spot in the NCAA tournament, the team's performance leaves a lot to be desired.
Colorado 73, Washington State 63
Derrick White totaled 26 points, five rebounds and five assists while leading Colorado to a come-from-behind win over Washington State. Xavier Johnson was the only other player on the team in double figures with 19 points.
It was a tale of two halves, as the Cougars simply dominated the early going. The squad went up 30-11 in the first half and held a 41-27 lead at intermission. However, the Buffaloes came out more aggressive in the second half, dominating the rebounds (37-29 advantage for the game) and pulled away for the win.
Josh Hawkinson totaled 12 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in the last game of what has been a storied career as one of the most productive big men in Pac-12 history.
USC 78, Washington 73
The USC Trojans bolstered their NCAA tournament resume with a 78-73 win over the Washington Huskies that was largely fueled by a run in the middle of the game.
The Huskies built a 37-27 lead in the first half, but USC answered with an extended 25-7 spurt. The Trojans then controlled the majority of the second half and pushed their advantage to double digits before Washington made one final push.
A three from Matisse Thybulle, basket from Malik Dime and missed free throws from USC gave David Crisp a chance to force overtime with a three, but he couldn't convert.
Chimezie Metu led the way for USC with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Crisp spearheaded Washington's counter with 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The Huskies played without potential No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz, who is dealing with a knee injury.
