"It was just my night to tonight," Gordon said, per NOLA.com's John Reid.

Rockets guard Patrick Beverley wasn't surprised to see his teammate come out on top:

Complex Sports and The Ringer's Rodger Sherman both made light of Irving's recent comments about the Earth possibly being flat (h/t ESPN.com):

Gordon didn't enjoy a great run with the New Orleans Pelicans. Injuries limited his time on the court, while few fans never forgot his contract saga with the Phoenix Suns before he re-signed with New Orleans in 2012. As Ball Don't Lie's Dan Devine tweeted, some ill will remains in the Big Easy:

Gordon is averaging 20.3 points per 36 minutes—his highest output since 2012-13—per Basketball-Reference.com. His 184 made three-pointers through 52 games are a career high as well.

To a certain extent, the 28-year-old has reinvented himself as a three-point specialist, and he has proved to be a shrewd addition for the Rockets, who sit third in the West.

Saturday's victory continues what has been a resurgent 2016-17 campaign for Gordon in Houston.
