C.J. McCollum Converts Late And-1, Buries Game-Winning Floater Against Mavericks
The final minutes of Tuesday's fourth quarter between the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers belonged to two players: Dirk Nowitzki and C.J. McCollum.
Despite a pair of cold-blooded threes by the lanky German, McCollum led Portland to a 114-113 win.
First, a driving and-1 by McCollum gave the Blazers a 112-110 lead with 12.3 seconds left.
Then, Dirk answered with a triple.
Not to be outdone, McCollum converted a floater off an inbounds pass that came with 3.9 seconds left. By the time the ball swooped through the net, Dallas only had time for a full-court heave.
The 25-year-old shooting guard was cool and calm when he discussed his game-winner, via CSN Northwest:
Portland improved to 23-30 after coming out on top in what McCollum described as a "must-win."
