LeBron James Enjoys Kendrick Lamar Performance at Sports Illustrated Award Gala

Andrew GouldDec 13, 2016

LeBron James received Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year at Monday night's award show in Brooklyn, New York. Along with accepting the honor, the NBA superstar enjoyed live music from Kendrick Lamar.

As everyone else in the audience sat stoically, James enthusiastically danced in his chair to the rapper's performance of "Levitate." The room's stuffiness didn't deter him from rapping along.

"Levitate" comes from the album untitled unmastered., which Lamar released shortly after James' request. The three-time champion is clearly a fan of that track:

Per ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin, James gave the eight-song album a glowing review in March.

"It was great," James said. "I think he's great. It's great to have family like that and people—even in different areas, not just in sports—that you can look to and hear for inspiration and things of that nature."

After bringing a title to Cleveland, James earned the right to dance all he wants.
