Latest on Knight's Playing Status
Wednesday, Nov. 23
Brian Perroni of 247Sports reported Knight is expected to start Thursday night's season finale against LSU.
Travis L. Brown of My Aggie Nation originally reported on Nov. 8 that Knight would not play for the remainder of the regular season but could potentially play in a bowl game.
Knight Struggled After Transfer from OU
After being replaced by junior Jake Hubenak late in the first half, Knight had his right arm in a sling at the start of the second half against Mississippi State, according to Dr. Saturday. Per TexAgs, the senior was also in street clothes, which signaled the end of his day.
Prior to his exit, Knight was struggling for the then-No. 4 Aggies. He completed just five of 14 passes for 43 yards and rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on five carries in the loss.
The Oklahoma transfer has been inconsistent as a passer this season, as he entered the Mississippi State game completing just 53.3 percent of his passes, but he has excelled as a rusher with 10 scores on the ground, including the one he tallied Nov. 5.
Knight is an experienced player who has gotten the job done in big games, most notably the Sooners' win over Alabama in the 2014 Sugar Bowl.
