"I'm fine," he responded when Thomas Bassinger of the Tampa Bay Times asked him about the boot. "It's stylish. Matches my clothes."
McCoy Has Been Staple of Bucs Defense
McCoy missed time with a calf injury earlier in the season, but he missed just four games from 2012 to 2015.
The four-time Pro Bowler, who notched 31.5 sacks as one of the anchors of Tampa Bay's defense during that span, has 23 tackles and six sacks this year. At his best, McCoy can plug holes to stuff the run, pressure the quarterback and occupy multiple blockers at once, which opens up blitzing lanes for defensive ends and linebackers.
The Buccaneers would look to Clinton McDonald, Akeem Spence and John Hughes if the 2013 All-Pro is limited or forced to the sidelines in the future.
