New Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors on Raiders' Stance and Star's Outlook 'Under Any Circumstances'
Five-time Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby remains committed to the Las Vegas Raiders despite the team potentially seeing its playoff drought extend to five seasons, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter reported Sunday the Raiders "currently have no plans of trading him," and one source was unequivocal about Crosby's wishes.
"Maxx absolutely does not want to leave Las Vegas under any circumstances," the source said. "His hope, though not in his full control, is that he remains a Raider for life."
The Raiders were prepared to say goodbye to Crosby in the offseason, only to have the Baltimore Ravens back out of a trade at the eleventh hour.
Rather than feeling alienated after that saga, the 29-year-old had a renewed sense of dedication to the organization. The Ringer's Tom Pelissero reported Saturday he thought the unraveling of his move to Baltimore "was a sign he was supposed to stay in Las Vegas."
The Raiders were going to receive the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft and a 2027 first-rounder from the Ravens. That would've been an excellent haul.
General manager John Spytek might be tempted if another team steps up to the plate and puts two first-round picks on the table. The Tennessee Titans got that in the Jeffery Simmons trade, so it stands to reason the price for Crosby remains as high as it was in the spring.
The veteran pass-rusher clearly isn't going to force Las Vegas' hand, though.
Assuming the Raiders remain outside of the postseason picture, there's still a benefit to having a tone-setter such as Crosby in the locker room. His leadership can pay dividends in terms of building the right internal culture for now and the future.
The passion Crosby has for the team is certainly something Spytek and coach Klint Kubiak would love to see emulated by others.
