Who to Watch on Sunday
Kris Dunn, G, Minnesota Timberwolves
Dunn will have to try to recreate a summer-league debut in which he dropped 27 points against the Denver Nuggets, via the NBA:
He went 10-of-18 from the field to go with five rebounds and three steals, along with a crossover on JaKarr Sampson that people are still talking about, via NBA TV:
His performance impressed Timberwolves assistant coach Ryan Saunders, who spoke with CBS Sports' Zach Harper after the game.
"For a lottery pick to come out, score like that, and look that comfortable, I felt extremely good about it," Saunders said. "That's one of the attributes that Kris has that makes him fit in with the Wolves. We like how intense he is and his approach."
Some scouts even compared Dunn to Washington Wizards star John Wall in terms of their attacking styles when speaking with Harper. While they said he wasn't as quick as Wall, he does have a better jump shot.
On Sunday, he'll be facing a Toronto Raptors team that stomped out the Sacramento Kings and held them to just 47 points. It was a historic low, per Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:
While coaches and fans can't take too much stock out of summer-league performances, another solid outing from Dunn on Sunday can only help build his confidence this early in the offseason.
