Crowder Named as Potential Trade Chip

Johnson reported Thursday night that Crowder "has been involved" in the trade talks.
If the Bulls are serious about trading Butler—and it appears they are based on Johnson's report—getting Crowder in return would be imperative.
A dynamic three-and-D threat, Crowder established himself as one of the league's premier swingmen as the Celtics ascended up the Eastern Conference ranks.
Over the course of 73 appearances, the 25-year-old averaged a career-high 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals.
The Celtics were also significantly better with him on the floor. According to NBA.com's lineup data, the Celtics posted a net rating of plus-4.5 points per 100 possessions when he was roaming around the perimeter.
Conversely, Boston outscored opponents by a mere 0.8 points per 100 possessions when Crowder was on the bench.
Beyond those encouraging numbers, Crowder is also on an uber-team-friendly deal. According to Spotrac, Crowder has four years left on his deal, and his annual salary doesn't exceed $8 million in any of those campaigns.
