Stephen Curry Talks Neymar After Warriors Beat Cavaliers in NBA Finals Game 2

Matt JonesJun 6, 2016

NBA star Stephen Curry revealed he feels inspired by the performances of Barcelona forward Neymar.

The two sporting giants met after Curry’s Golden State Warriors played the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday. The basketball sensation spoke of his admiration for the Brazilian footballer in a press conference after they exchanged jerseys.

“He's a star in the soccer world, showing such skill and a kind of grace when he's out there on the field. So he's fun to watch,” Curry said, per Sport. “… It's pretty cool to know we've got fans all over, and obviously it's inspiring what he does on the soccer field.”

Curry also spoke of the Barcelona man’s passion for the sport of basketball and how he’d fare if he decided to give soccer a try.

“I know he's a basketball head,” he said. “I saw him dribbling two basketballs the other day trying to mimic my two-ball routine—I told him I appreciate that and he doesn't want to see me with a soccer ball, because I wouldn't know what to do!”

With his team 2-0 up in the seven-match series against Cleveland and a 30.1-point average per game posted during the regular season, it’s unlikely Curry will have to turn to another sport to make a living anytime soon.
