The 18-year-old had committed to play college basketball for the University of Connecticut but decommitted at the beginning of May. He was at Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut but was dismissed from the school for an on-court altercation involving multiple players after a game.
Per the Hartford Courant's Dom Amore, Putnam Science had a zero-tolerance policy for players fighting, which is what led to Brown's abrupt exit from the school. Brown had been with three different schools over the past year.
Walter Villa for USA Today previously reported on Brown's tumultuous childhood, which contributed to his moving around so often.
Although Brown's settled down with Michael Lipman as his legal guardian, per Villa, his basketball future may well be in jeopardy after his arrest and litany of charges.
