Redditor Wonders Who the 'Crying Black Dude' Is in the 'Crying Jordan' Meme

Michael Jordan is a highly recognizable person, not just in sports but also in popular culture. Like Madonna or Tom Cruise, his fame transcends his chosen profession.

That said, assuming it's even possible to not recognize MJ, the GOAT, one of the greatest American athletes of all time—isn't the title of the Crying Jordan meme intuitive?

Not for one Redditor, apparently. AmazingRealist (NSFW content on page) posted the following in a hockey subreddit: "For someone that doesn't follow the playoffs super closely, whose [sic] that crying black dude that gets linked every time a team gets eliminated?"

The offender backtracked, editing his post to indicate he knows who MJ is but "never put a face to the name." He also added he is from Sweden, which makes the gaffe a bit more understandable.
