Dwyane Wade Passes Dirk Nowitzki for 14th Place on All-Time Playoff Scoring List
Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade made more postseason history Saturday when he passed Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki for 14th place on the NBA's all-time playoff scoring list.
According to Slam Magazine, the 34-year-old accomplished the feat on a jumper in the second quarter of Miami's Game 3 matchup with the Toronto Raptors.
The Heat are tied 1-1 in their second-round series with the Raptors but are in a tough spot as they trail in the third quarter.
As the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds noted, Wade can still play at a high level. Miami would not even be in the game if not for his gritty performance so far.
Wade had nine points going into halftime and some nice feeds to his teammates, including this lob to Hassan Whiteside to start the game:
The Marquette product should have more playoff milestones in his future. He needs roughly 50 points over the next few games to pass Magic Johnson at 3,701 points for 13th on the all-time list.
With a tremendous career that includes three NBA championships and a bevy of records to his name, Wade is the greatest player in Miami Heat history. Look for him to climb up this list in the next week as he adds to an already great legacy.
