Triple H posted a photo from backstage as Young made his first appearance on the show:

WWE also shared a photo on Instagram:

Young also discussed his debut:

Young, a one-time TNA world champion, joins Samoa Joe and Austin Aries as former TNA alumni on the NXT roster. The WWE Archivist is looking forward to what EY can do in WWE/NXT:

According to Andrew Ravens of Wrestling News, Young confronted Joe and challenged him to a match in a segment that will air on Wednesday.

Young continues what has been a massive talent influx into NXT over the past year. Whereas WWE once emphasized developing relatively homegrown talent in Winter Park, Florida, the company has shifted a little more toward signing established names. Young, Aries, Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Hideo Itami are among the marquee stars to join NXT. James Storm also had a brief run before returning to TNA.

And another star is almost certainly on the way after Bobby Roode was in the crowd for NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 1:

Adding Young makes a lot of sense for NXT. He already has a built-in history with Samoa Joe, the new NXT champion after beating Finn Balor at a house show:

Balor will inevitably get a shot to win back his title, and once his feud with Joe is over for good, NXT might already have planned on Young being the next challenger for the belt.

Or NXT's creative team might use Young similarly to how it did Aries, who beat Baron Corbin at TakeOver: Dallas, with Corbin seemingly having made the jump to the WWE roster on a full-time basis. Part of what makes NXT so successful is its ability to create compelling storylines and entertaining matches away from the main draws—something with which WWE has struggled in recent years.

Young is an immensely talented worker in the ring and more than charismatic on the mic. Whatever WWE has in mind for him at Full Sail University, his presence makes the product stronger.
