'S--t, We Lost,' Kenneth Walker III Addresses Not Shaking Hands with Seahawks After Chiefs' Loss

Joseph ZuckerOct 26, 2026

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III wasn't in a mood to chat with some of his old teammates following Sunday's 20-3 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks.

Walker avoided the traditional postgame handshakes and headed straight for the locker room.

"S--t, we lost," he said matter-of-factly, per ESPN's Nate Taylor. "I was frustrated. That's about it. I [saw] them over there celebrating and s--t. That's about it."

Beyond coming out on the losing end, Walker had by far his worst game of the season. He ran for just 36 yards on 14 carries.

Walker didn't have a bitter divorce from the Seahawks in the offseason. He parlayed his Super Bowl MVP into a nice contract with the Chiefs and a bigger role in Kansas City that he was likely to have in Seattle.

There wasn't so much a revenge aspect at play as there was a straightforward challenge before the reigning champions. Safety Nick Emmanwori relished the opportunity to keep one of the league's top rushers in check.

"I definitely did want to hold him under 100 [yards]," Emmanwori said. "I don't really listen to all the media noise, but that was my motivation. I know a lot of dudes on the defense, that was their motivation, too, to stop him under 100 and play lights out on defense. I think we did that."

Walker is unlikely to get another crack at Seattle since that would mean facing off with the Seahawks in Super Bowl LXI.

Instead, he may channel his frustration from Sunday against the remaining opponents on the Chiefs' schedule.
