It sounds like Matt Hardy will be on his own for a while, as his brother, Jeff, is set to address a nagging injury.
During this week's episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the elder Hardy revealed that Jeff has been dealing with a bulging disc in his neck, and he will take some time off to recover.
"It's gonna be interesting to see what my next character is, especially if Jeff takes a little time off to try and work on his neck a little bit. That may be happening. I guess we'll see," Matt said (h/t WrestlePurists). "It's been a year now since he's had this bulging disc that's just been bugging him. I think he's done everything he can do in his power. I think he's maybe gonna take some time off and just see what he can do to get it fixed up, and correct it as much as possible."
The Hardys most recently teamed together on the Oct. 13 episode of TNA Impact, defeating AJ Francis & Expressions. The veterans lost to syX (Joseph Sawyer & Samuel Shaw) in a Falls Count Anywhere match at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view.
Jeff Hardy is known as one of the most exciting wrestlers of all time, but it's no secret that it's taken a toll on his body. Fans will be patient as they wait for him to recover before returning to the ring.
Stephanie Vaquer Injury Update
Former WWE Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer appears to be on her way back to the ring, and she already knows who she's targeting.
After suffering an ankle injury when she lost her title to Liv Morgan in a Triple Threat match that also included Becky Lynch at the Money in the Bank premium live event, Vaquer announced on social media that she's off crutches and cleared to return, and she sent a message to Lynch.
"Becky, you wanted to know when I'm cleared? See you Monday," Vaquer said.
After Vaquer's announcement, Raw general manager Adam Pearce announced that her showdown against Lynch will be a No. 1 contender's match for Morgan's title.
Vaquer admitted after her Money in the Bank match against Morgan was legitimate and not part of a storyline after she was seen visibly limping and getting help from referee Jessika Carr before making her way backstage.
Now that she's back to 100 percent, Vaquer will look to settle things with Lynch before turning her attention back to Morgan and the Women's World Championship.
Eric Young's Backstage Role Revealed
After reports surfaced earlier this year that Eric Young departed TNA and rejoined WWE, more details have emerged about his role.
During a recent Q&A (h/t WrestlePurists), PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported that Young returned to WWE in July as a producer for NXT.
F4WOnline's Bryan Alvarez previously reported that Young was "expected to be a 'player/coach' in NXT." However, Johnson didn't mention whether the 46-year-old will also be competing in the ring in addition to his backstage duties.
After spending 12 years in TNA, Young joined WWE in 2016 and remained with the company until he was part of the roster cuts in 2020. He returned in 2022 but didn't appear on television, and he was back with TNA a year later.
Young has a veteran mind that will surely be beneficial to the young talent in NXT, so his return to the company will be welcomed by fans and wrestlers alike.
