Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Hornets: Live Score, Analysis for Game 4
Kemba Walker scored 34 points, Jeremy Lin added 21 and the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Miami Heat, 89-85, at Time Warner Cable Arena on Monday night, tying their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series at two games apiece.
This was a wild one.
The Heat got off to a terrific start, jumping to an 11-point lead in the second quarter as the Hornets scrambled to find offense.
Then, a light bulb went on for Charlotte, and Walker and Co. ended the first half on a 27-8 run to take a 48-39 lead into the break.
The Hornets would continue to build their lead in the third period, going up by as many as 18 behind some suffocating defense and superb shot-making.
But, the Heat would rally.
Miami proceeded to go on a 17-1 run, and later, on a Gerald Green three-pointer, it trimmed its deficit to one.
However, the Heat could not get over the hump.
Walker and Lin made big play after big play down the stretch to keep Miami at bay, and Courtney Lee hit two free throws with 4.6 seconds remaining to ice the win.
The Hornets did this without Nicolas Batum, who was missing his second straight game with a foot strain.
Joe Johnson led the Heat with 16 points.
Game 5 is Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena.
