Paul George scored 27 of his 33 points during the second half to propel the Indiana Pacers past the Toronto Raptors 100-90 in Game 1 of the first-round series.

However, it was George's defensive effort that ruled the day. DeMar DeRozan managed 14 points on 5-of-19 shooting, while George recorded four steals and two blocks.

Toronto managed to convert just 4 of its 19 attempts from three-point range. Kyle Lowry was a meager 1-of-7 beyond the arc, finishing with only 11 points. He also committed six turnovers.

Jonas Valanciunas starred for the Raptors, racking up 12 points and 19 rebounds. However, foul trouble limited him to just 21 minutes. Toronto lost despite a 52-38 advantage on the glass.

Indiana rookie Myles Turner chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and five blocks. Three other Pacers—Monta Ellis (15), Solomon Hill (13) and George Hill (10)—reached double digits.
