Analysis of Underrated Players
West: Amir Coffey, SG, Minnesota

Opting to stay in-state for college with the Golden Gophers, Coffey has a big chance to make an instant impact as a true freshman following Minnesota's troubled 2015-16 season that saw the suspension of three key players in March.
As for what to expect at the Jordan Brand Classic, don't be surprised if Coffey steals the show to a degree. The 4-star prospect may not have quite the elite athleticism as the most prized recruits, yet he is as versatile and dynamic as anyone in Friday's contest.
Hopkins High School coach John Oxton spoke about Coffey's skill set after the latter led the team to a Minnesota Class 4A state title, per TwinCities.com's Jace Frederick:
"He's pretty tough, just because he's so long and he's got very good skill. He's a good athlete. He's going to go play Division I basketball, and there's a reason – he's pretty dang good. He's tough. He's a good combination of a very long, talented, athletic kid. Those three things add up to make a guy a pretty good player.
"
Coffey is listed by 247Sports at 6'7" and 180 pounds, which gives him the option of playing the 3 in smaller lineups and could well be his eventual position at Minnesota, especially if he fills out his frame with muscle.
From that small forward spot, Coffey can function as a point forward, creating matchup nightmares for the opposition. His ability to create off the dribble and exceptional court vision makes him stand out.
And that's not even to mention how good of an offensive arsenal Coffey has as a scorer. The precocious 18-year-old is a crafty and surprisingly strong finisher at the rim, with shooting range that extends to the three-point arc and a solid mid-range game.
The length Coffey has is also an asset on defense, which makes him a real threat in transition as well. There aren't many holes in his game, so despite the less-heralded commitment to the Golden Gophers, Coffey is bound to flash well at the Jordan Brand Classic.
East: Udoka Azubuike, C, Kansas

Unlike Coffey, Azubuike participated in the McDonald's All-American Game, registering nine points, eight rebounds and two blocks in 15 minutes, per RealGM.com.
Also rated a 4-star prospect and regarded by 247Sports as the fifth-best player at his position, Azubuike may well have a chip on his shoulder in Friday's contest despite committing to an excellent Kansas program.
The minimal time Azubuike needed to accumulate a near double-double is a testament to how dominant he can be down low. He presents the best combination of height and muscle (6'11", 265 pounds, per 247Sports) on either Jordan Brand Classic All-American squad and knows how to use his power to his advantage.
Other big men with similar measurements don't have the type of quick-twitch athleticism or explosiveness Azubuike does, which is what makes him so unique. He explodes off the floor and gets well above the rim to finish with a rare viciousness and authority.
With a point guard like Fox as a catalyst, there shouldn't be a shortage of opportunities for Azubuike to thrive. HoopSeen.com's Justin Young is already thinking about what Azubuike will bring to Kansas:
The only thing that might impede his Jordan Brand Classic performance is the presence of Fox's future Kentucky teammate, Bam Adebayo, in the frontcourt.
The tandem of Azubuike and Aebayo, should they be paired together for the East, figures to be a magnificent 1-2 punch, but Azubuike may be the one who stands out most.
Even if Azubuike doesn't add a lot more moves to his arsenal, he could get by on raw talent and sheer strength. That may be all he needs to steamroll anyone in his path at the Barclays Center, where he can absolutely take over in the paint if he so desires.
