Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: Live Score, Highlights, Reaction

Matthew SchmidtMar 31, 2016

Kevin Durant scored 31 points, Russell Westbrook added 26 points and 11 assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the feisty short-handed Los Angeles Clippers, 119-117, at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Thursday night.

The Clippers were without Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, J.J. Redick and Paul Pierce, but that did not stop them from fighting the Thunder for 48 minutes.

Los Angeles actually led for a solid portion of this game, taking a 69-65 lead into halftime and going up by as many as nine in the second half.

That was mostly thanks to the strangely dynamic duo of Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers, each of whom scored 32 points.

For Rivers, it was a career-high, and he also buried a career-best seven three-pointers.

As a team, the Clippers connected on 16 three-pointers to keep them in the contest for the entire evening.

In the end, though, Oklahoma City's talent won out thanks to a couple of huge rebounds, both offensive and defensive, by Westbrook down the stretch.

The Thunder shot 51.7 percent from the floor and a survived a 55.3 percent shooting night from the Clippers.

Oklahoma City outrebounded Los Angeles, 46-26.

Up next for the Clippers is a home meeting the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon. That game will feature the return of Griffin, who has been out since December with quad and hand injuries.

Meanwhile, the Thunder will head over to Texas to take on the Houston Rockets that same afternoon.
