LeBron James keeps breaking records, as the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar has passed Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins for 12th on the NBA's career scoring list after scoring an and-1 layup in the first quarter against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.

The NBA's Twitter account congratulated James on his accomplishment:

Wilkins finished his illustrious career with 26,668 points in 15 seasons. James needed 13 seasons to pass that mark.

This is the latest milestone for James, who has been burning up the career-scoring leaderboard this season. The four-time NBA MVP vaulted past legends such as John Havlicek, Alex English and Reggie Miller before getting to Wilkins.

Earlier this season, James also became the youngest player in NBA history to reach the 25,000-point milestone:

James has been the model of consistency throughout his career. The 31-year-old has averaged at least 20 points per game and scored at least 1,600 points in each of his 13 seasons.

His scoring average has gone down each of the last two years, a product of his shooting percentage dropping from 56.7 in his final season with the Miami Heat to 48.8 last season and 51.0 so far this season.

Despite showing some signs of fatigue as he's moved past the age of 30, James remains one of the NBA's best and steadiest performers. He has the Cavaliers on the brink of the best record in the Eastern Conference, to go along with all of his personal records achieved this season.

As long as James stays healthy over the next two years, he will have no problem becoming the seventh player (NBA/ABA) to reach 30,000 career points.
