Russell Westbrook Records 1st 25-10-19 Stat Line Since 1988
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was initially credited with a historic stat line in Wednesday's 120-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, becoming the first player since Magic Johnson (in 1988) to record 25-plus points, 10-plus rebounds and 20-plus assists in a single game, per NBA History on Twitter.
However, with one of his assists removed upon further review, the 27-year-old superstar technically finished with only 25 points, 11 boards and 19 dimes in 37 minutes, also turning the ball over seven times.
Unsurprisingly, the new stat line is nearly as rare, with no player since Johnson in 1988 going for 25, 10 and 19 in the same contest.
The round number may have made Westbrook's performance sound better, but there have still been just eight 25-10-19 performances in the NBA since 1983-84, with three of those games including 20-plus assists.
Either way, Westbrook posted the best assist total of his career in Wednesday's game, topping the 18 that he had a few weeks back in a loss to the Indiana Pacers.
