A matchup of two teams in transition went the Minnesota Timberwolves' way, as they knocked off the Brooklyn Nets, 132-118, on Saturday night.
The Nets and Timberwolves are playing for pride at this point. Minnesota is showcasing its future with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, so there's hope for the Timberwolves.
Towns, Wiggins and Zach LaVine were unstoppable for Minnesota. The trio combined for 75 points, while Ricky Rubio posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.
The Nets are trying to find reasons to be excited, though they have avoided the Atlantic Division cellar thanks to the presence of Philadelphia.
Brook Lopez got the night off, leaving Markel Brown to be Brooklyn's star. He finished with 23 points in nearly 29 minutes off the bench. Sean Kilpatrick scored a season-high 19 points, and Shane Larkin had his best game of the season with 18 points.
