Nets vs. Nuggets: Score, Video Highlights and Recap from March 4
In a showdown of two struggling franchises, the Brooklyn Nets got the best of the Denver Nuggets 121-120 in overtime.
Finding a silver lining for the Nets this season has been difficult, though Brook Lopez's ability to stay healthy has been a pleasant surprise.
Lopez got the chance to play hero on Friday night, scoring the go-ahead basket on a tip-in with less than one second remaining in overtime. He finished the game with 20 points.
Markel Brown was huge off the bench for Brooklyn, posting season highs in points (21), rebounds (eight) and assists (seven).
The Nuggets have been toiling near the bottom of the Western Conference for years, and this season is no different for the 24-38 team.
Emmanuel Mudiay briefly looked like he was going to give Denver a victory. He was fouled after hitting layup, completing a three-point play with five seconds left in regulation that put the Nuggets up 112-110.
The Nuggets fouled Bojan Bogdanovic behind the three-point line on the Nets' next possession. He made two of three free throws to force overtime.
Mudiay finished with a game-high 25 points to go along with seven assists and six rebounds. Nikola Jokic and Kenneth Faried each had double-doubles for the Nuggets in defeat.
