It took a while for the public to get a look at the hand New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul injured in a fireworks accident July 4, but at this point, he is comfortable being open about it.

Pierre-Paul lost both his index finger and the tip of his right thumb in the incident last year. As a result, the two-time Pro Bowler did not sign a contract with the Giants until the end of October and did not play in a game until Week 9. When he finally did take the field, he had to wear a cast on his hand.

A couple of weeks ago, the 27-year-old shared a throwback photo from after the accident to reflect on everything he has gone through:

That's quite a shot.

Pierre-Paul also made the avatar of both his Twitter and Instagram accounts the X-ray of his right hand (Warning: Picture is graphic):

It's clear Pierre-Paul has no problem showing everyone the extent of his injury. Some of the photos he posts may be graphic, but that's to be expected after the nature of the incident.
