The No. 3 Villanova Wildcats avenged their only loss of Big East play on Saturday as they handily beat the No. 11 Providence Friars behind a career performance from Darryl Reynolds.
Reynolds, who replaced the injured Daniel Ochefu in the starting lineup, scored a career high of 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in Villanova's 10th conference victory of the season.

Villanova pulled into the lead early as it scored the first 10 points of the game. For the rest of the first half, the Wildcats held on to a substantial advantage thanks to strong defense and poor shooting by the host Friars.
Providence pulled within six points with 5:55 remaining in the second half by way of three consecutive three-pointers, but the Friars were unable to close the gap any further.
Ryan Arcidiacono delivered the knockout punch for Villanova with 1:35 to go in the game as he knocked down a three-pointer to extend the lead to nine points.
Reynolds led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 points, while Josh Hart added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Kris Jenkins also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Villanova.
Providence star Kris Dunn went 4-of-15 from the field and scored just 11 points. Ben Bentil led the Friars with 20 in defeat.
