Gordon Crucial to Pelicans' Playoff Hopes
Gordon was one of five Pelicans who were averaging double-digit scoring outputs halfway through the 2015-16 season. He's averaging 14.9 points per night in 41 games.
It has been a difficult time without him for the Pelicans, who are near the bottom of the Western Conference at 23-34.
Norris Cole and Toney Douglas have seen a bump in their minutes at the 2 to fill Gordon's void, but it's been up to backup point guard Jrue Holiday to make sure the offense remains consistent.
Time is running out for the Pelicans, though. Since they sit 5.5 games outside a playoff spot, getting Gordon back could help them make a legitimate run at the postseason.
