Damian Lillard Promotes 'Creators Never Follow' Campaign in New Adidas Ad

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard isn't worried about what the doubters say about him. Instead, he is using all of the criticism as motivation.

So far, so good.

Like Houston Rockets star James Harden (here), Lillard is taking part in Adidas' "Creators Never Follow" campaign. And the message is simple: Hard work and focus lead to success.

Nothing was given to Lillard. The Rip City star has had to prove himself every step of the way, ultimately leading to an NBA Rookie of the Year Award and two NBA All-Star selections. While he has received plenty of support along the way, the naysayers have also played a role in his path to stardom.

Lillard has battled through the good and the bad—because he's a creator, not a follower.
