NFL Draft 2016: Selection Order and Mock Draft Post-Divisional Round
We're another step closer to the 2016 NFL draft order being set, with four more teams eliminated from the playoffs this weekend.
CBS Sports' Dane Brugler had the most recent update on the draft picks that were settled this weekend:
"Updated NFL Draft order: 25. #Steelers 26. #Seahawks 27. #Packers 28. #Chiefs
— Dane Brugler (@dpbrugler) January 18, 2016"
The Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos will own the final three selections in the first round in some order. The New England Patriots, due to their Deflategate punishments, do not own a first-round pick.

Notable Picks
8. Miami Dolphins: Shaq Lawson

Olivier Vernon, one of the few stars on Miami's defense, is set to become a free agent and will likely cash in on a massive deal. The Dolphins will certainly make an effort to retain Vernon, but the bidding process may make it difficult to re-sign their star pass-rusher.
Even if he were to return, it would make sense for Miami to address its pass rush early in this draft. Veteran linebacker Cameron Wake turns 34 this month and is entering the final year of his contract.
Clemson's Shaq Lawson lost some momentum down the stretch this season, as he was outplayed in the playoff by teammate Kevin Dodd. However, his performance was at least partially hindered by a knee injury suffered versus Oklahoma.
Lawson lacks the explosive athleticism of Wake, but he compares favorably to the more well-rounded Vernon.
16. Detroit Lions: Laquon Treadwell

Wide receiver might be turning from a strength into a glaring need in Detroit.
On January 6, Calvin Johnson released a statement about his potential retirement, which undoubtedly caused the Lions front office to start thinking about ways to replace the legendary receiver.
Even if he returns, though, the team needs to think about the future of the wide receiver position. Among the Lions' primary receivers, 27-year-old Golden Tate is the only one under 30.
It's impossible to replace Johnson's production with a rookie, but Laquon Treadwell might be the closest thing to Megatron in this draft class. Like Johnson, Treadwell is capable of winning the battle for contested catches in traffic and making plays after the catch.
20. New York Jets: Paxton Lynch

The Jets aren't frequently mentioned among the teams interested in a first-round quarterback, but if the front office falls in love with a prospect, it could make a move to find the team's future signal-caller.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is 33 and clearly not the long-term answer in New York. In fact, there's no guarantee that Fitzpatrick is even the short-term answer for the Jets, as he is set to become a free agent this offseason.
Paxton Lynch is a developmental prospect who likely won't be ready to start in Week 1. That fact may scare off some teams drafting early in the first round, but if the Jets are able to re-sign Fitzpatrick, Lynch could sit and learn until he's ready to take over in a year or two.
