Mavericks vs. Bulls: Score, Video Highlights and Recap from Jan. 15

Two teams on the precipice of contention in their respective conferences clashed Friday night in Chicago with the Dallas Mavericks knocking off the Bulls, 83-77.

While both squads have plenty of work to do before being able to compete with teams like the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers come playoff time, they clearly had something to prove Friday.

The Mavs contained the Bulls' offense in victory. Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams combined to score 39 of Dallas' 83 points, going 6-of-10 from three-point range. 

Jimmy Butler, who was coming off a 53-point game against Philadelphia on Thursday, was held to a season-low four points on 2-of-11 shooting. Derrick Rose played well in the loss with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists.
