While the Golden State Warriors are the defending champs and hold the best record in the league, they were coming into Thursday's contest with the Los Angeles Lakers off a loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Los Angeles was coming off a Tuesday win over the New Orleans Pelicans after four straight defeats.

Still, Golden State won the first two matchups in this season series by a combined 55 points and was looking to win its 37th straight home contest Thursday.
