Thunder's Durant Records 25th Consecutive 20-Point Game

Bleacher Report MilestonesJan 14, 2016

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant scored 29 points in Wednesday's 108-89 win over the Dallas Mavericks, giving him 25 consecutive games with 20 or more points for the third time in his illustrious career, per ESPN Stats & Info.

This represents his third-longest such streak, though it still falls short of the remarkable 56-game run he put together between Dec. 22, 2013 (during his MVP campaign), and Dec. 2, 2014, per Basketball-Reference.com.

Less notably, Durant also reached the 20-point threshold in 33 consecutive contests between Dec. 22, 2009, and March 2, 2010.

Despite his fantastic play this season, the 27-year-old Durant is highly unlikely to match his 56-game streak, which was largely accomplished while Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was sidelined by an injury.

As every fantasy basketball enthusiast has surely noticed, Durant and Westbrook tend to put up much gaudier scoring numbers when the other guy is sidelined by an injury.

Speaking of which, Westbrook was ejected from Wednesday's victory in the second quarter due to a pair of technical fouls, thus finishing without any points for just the second time in his career, per ESPN Stats & Info.
