Thunder Center Steven Adams Accidentally Hits Ref in Head While Taking Off Shirt

Kyle NewportJan 13, 2016

After what happened late in the second quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams will probably make sure to be more aware of his surroundings when checking into games in the future.

The 7'0" center stepped onto the court with less than two minutes to play in the first half. In order to do so, he had to take off his shootaround shirt.

That proved to be a rough experience—for a referee.

When Adams took off his shirt, he accidentally whacked the ref standing in front of him right in the head. The Thunder big man felt bad and immediately checked on the ref to make sure he wasn't hurt.

Adams posted eight points and five rebounds in a 101-96 victory.
