The Boston Celtics and New York Knicks were ninth and 10th in the Eastern Conference, respectively, entering Tuesday's showdown at Madison Square Garden.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens has made do with one of the least talented rosters in the NBA and has managed to field a gritty, competitive squad. The Knicks have been infused with new energy, courtesy of rookie Kristaps Porzingis, and have somewhat surprisingly vaulted into the playoff conversation.

The Knicks were victorious, 120-114.
